Billing questions

How do credits work?
You add credits in US dollars, and every request draws down your balance. When it runs out, requests stop until you top up, so you can never spend more than you added.
What does the 3% fee cover?
Running the gateway for you: hosting, routing and fallbacks, API keys, budgets, usage tracking and support. It is the same 3% whether you use our models or your own keys.
Why is there a processing fee on top-ups?
Card payments, receipts and sales tax are handled by our payment provider, and they charge for each payment. We pass that cost on as 5.5% + $0.50 per top-up instead of hiding it in model prices. Larger top-ups keep it lower as a share of what you pay.
Is bringing my own keys cheaper?
If you already have provider accounts or negotiated rates, yes: you pay your provider directly and we only charge the 3% fee. If you don't, our models are simpler: one balance, one bill, many providers.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. See the refund policy.
Is self-hosting really free?
Yes. The gateway is open source under the MIT license, with no usage limits. You pay only for your own servers and provider usage. Get it on GitHub.
